Get to Know the Photographer

Hello there, I’ll be your kind, easy-going yet organized, hype-lady behind the lens! I specialize in wedding, engagement, and family photography in the Kansas City area, but am always down to travel.

I grew up in Lee’s Summit, MO and graduated from Colorado State University with my BFA in Painting and K-12 Art Education. I taught middle school art for five years, then quit to run my business full time. I have over ten years of professional photography experience (although I saved up and bought my first camera in 4th grade) and have shot hundreds of local weddings and families.

I’m a mom to Annie Mark, Isabel Finley, and Kaia Whitney who are the muse of thousands of photographs, and many of my paintings / sketches. My husband and I were married in 2015, and he is still putting up with all my crazy, creative ideas and dreams.

Fun Tidbits

My husband and I got married in Sedalia, MO at Heritage Ranch after only knowing each other for a year. We met at the middle school where we were both teaching (he taught math, and I taught art). We are complete opposites, but I sure do love that good lookin’ man!
I am addicted to coffee, comfy sweatshirts, a fresh bouquet of flowers, and redecorating my house every five seconds.
I Illustrated a book called “Playing in the Rain” and love cartooning and illustration in addition to the oil/acrylic painting I do.
We have an orange cat named Kona who consistently gets dressed up in princess costumes.
Much of my family lives in Maine so we travel there in the summers to hike along the rocky coast, eat lobster, and kayak at our family’s lakeside cabin.
I love running while jammin’ to Justin Beiber…don’t judge.
My favorite local date night is getting a craft beer with my hubbie (we love sitting/sipping while solving all life's problems) and then grabbing tacos or KC barbeque after.
I’m a total nerd and love all things Harry Potter…we even went to Harry Potter World on our honeymoon.

“Brooke. Is. AMAZING. She took both our engagement pictures and wedding pictures and we could not feel more lucky to have had her. Throughout the entire process she was SO easy to work with and made us feel so comfortable. Our wedding day couldn’t have been more perfect and Brooke was right there the entire day from getting ready in the morning until the very last song. She is one of the hardest workers I know and truly made it her priority to capture all of the best moments. Our wedding day was dreamy and magical and you can see that in every single photo. It takes a special person to be able to capture that, and that is Brooke. Thank you for everything Brooke, we will be forever grateful for you.
